This photo series, a collection that has been catalogued in the Library of Congress, should be considered a discovery of hidden treasures! The images are estimated to have been created around 1905, and each photograph was taken with a large format camera on an 8x10 negative. The series is reflective of such a fascinating turn-of-the-century period, when photographs were much more rare than they are today and creativity behind the camera was still being discovered. To take a portrait, it was necessary for subjects to sit still for minutes at a time. I wonder how the photographer got these pups to stay still for so long!
